Key parameters
Fits HVAC balancing and duct work where you need a handheld micromanometer for differential air pressure, pitot velocity, calculated flow, and temperature — battery powered, no analog output.
Key advantages
- Three air measurements — pressure ±4000 Pa, velocity 250–16000 fpm, flow 0–99999 cfm/m³/h (pitot + duct area).
- Published pressure accuracy — ±1% + 1 Pa (or unit equivalent).
- 99-reading storage — capture balancing points without a separate logger.
- Long battery life — four AA; typical 375 h without backlight / 80 h with.
Typical applications
- HVAC TAB balancing of ducts and air handlers.
- Filter and damper differential pressure checks.
- Field velocity surveys with a pitot tube (PT12 12 in optional).
Selection guide
- Measuring ranges — Air pressure ±4000 Pa (±16 inH2O / ±40 mbar / ±0.6 PSI); air velocity 250–16000 fpm (1–80 m/s); air flow 0–99999 cfm / m³/hr / l/s; temperature 0–50 °C.
- Accuracy — Pressure ±1% + 1 Pa (or unit equiv.); velocity ±2.5% of reading at 2000 fpm (10 m/s); temperature ±1% + 2 °C; flow accuracy is a function of velocity and duct size.
- Max pressure at ports — 10 PSI each port (datasheet note). Do not exceed on the hose side.
- Output — Handheld meter display; 99 reading data storage. No analog output.
- Supply — Four AA alkaline batteries; typical life 375 h without backlight / 80 h with.
- Process connection — Hose ports for pitot/static; compatible with most pitot tubes (PT12 12 in optional).
- IP — IP40.
- Ambient — Operating 0…+50 °C; storage −40…+60 °C; RH 0–90% non-condensing.
Common mistakes
- Expecting a 4–20 mA or other analog output — the 922 is a handheld meter with display and 99-reading storage only.
- Exceeding 10 PSI at either hose port — that is the published max per port.
- Quoting flow accuracy as a single % — datasheet states flow accuracy depends on velocity and duct size; state duct dimensions in the RFQ if flow is the acceptance metric.
- Assuming outdoor/washdown IP — rating is IP40; use a different instrument if the site needs higher ingress protection.
- Forgetting pitot tube length/kit (PT12 12 in optional) when the duct access needs a longer probe.
When to RFQ / what to tell us
- Primary measurement: differential pressure, velocity, calculated flow, and/or temperature.
- Expected pressure/velocity range and duct size (if flow is required).
- Pitot tube need (most tubes compatible; PT12 12 in optional) and ToolPak hanging kit yes/no.
- Quantity, ship-to country, and any calibration certificate preference.

FAQ
Q: Does the Fluke 922 provide a 4–20 mA output? A: No. It is a handheld display meter with 99-reading storage. If you need continuous analog output to a PLC, select a different instrument family.
Q: What limits velocity and flow accuracy? A: Velocity accuracy is ±2.5% of reading at 2000 fpm (10 m/s). Flow accuracy depends on velocity and duct size — state duct dimensions when flow is the acceptance metric.
Q: What is the max pressure on the hose ports? A: 10 PSI at each port per OEM published values. Stay within ±4000 Pa measuring range for the published accuracy.
Q: What should I send for a quote? A: Measurement type (ΔP / velocity / flow / temp), expected ranges, duct size if flow, pitot/ToolPak needs, quantity. Compatible with systems using Fluke 922 if you need a drop-in check — we do not claim authorized-dealer status.
