Fits continuous temperature loops that need a 2-channel universal RTD / thermocouple / Ω / mV head, DIN-rail, or field-mount transmitter with a single 4–20 mA HART 7 output — sensor ordered separately.

Key advantages

  • 2 universal inputs — RTD (e.g. Pt100 −200…850 °C), TC per IEC/ASTM, Ω, and mV.
  • HART 7 on 4–20 mA — invertible 20–4 mA; supply 11…42 VDC (SIL mode upper 32 VDC).
  • Form-factor choices — head, DIN-rail, or field housing with matching IP classes.
  • SIL2 + Ex marks — ATEX/IECEx/FM/CSA/SIL2/CE/DNV GL by configuration.

Typical applications

  • Critical temperature loops needing dual-sensor redundancy or differential.
  • Head-mount upgrades on existing RTD/TC assemblies.
  • Cabinet DIN-rail temperature signal conditioning with HART.

Selection guide

  • Input / range — 2 universal inputs: RTD e.g. Pt100 −200…850 °C; TC types per IEC/ASTM tables; also Ω and mV.
  • Sensor type — Universal: RTD (Pt100/Pt1000 etc.), thermocouple, resistance (Ω), voltage (mV); 2-channel.
  • Accuracy — Pt100 IEC 60751 example ME ±(0.05 °C + 0.0039%·(MV−LRL)); typical table values ~0.07…0.09 °C depending on span.
  • Output — 1× 4–20 mA (invertible 20–4 mA) with HART 7.
  • Supply — 11…42 VDC standard (head); 12…42 VDC some variants; SIL mode upper limit 32 VDC.
  • Mount / head — DIN EN 50446 form B (flat face) head mount; DIN-rail TH35; field mount housing.
  • Housing & IP — Head / DIN-rail / field housings (materials per TI). Head typically to IP66/67/68 with field housing (NEMA 4X); ATEX field housings IP66/67; DIN-rail IP20-class cabinet install.
  • Ambient — Head/DIN-rail −40…85 °C (−40…185 °F); field housing variants −30…85 °C; SIL mode −40…70 °C.

Common mistakes

  • Treating this as a complete probe assembly — process connection and sheath are blank by design; order the RTD/TC separately.
  • Ordering dual-channel diagnostics without confirming both channels are wired and configured.
  • Using SIL-mode supply expectations (upper 32 VDC) on a non-SIL loop design, or the reverse.
  • Claiming Ex / SIL coverage without the matching housing and order codes on the quote.
  • Specifying stem length / sheath material on this SKU — those belong on the sensor, not the TMT82 body.
  • Mounting a DIN-rail IP20 unit where the location needs field-housing IP66/67/68.

When to RFQ / what to tell us

  1. Sensor type (RTD / TC / Ω / mV), single or dual channel use, and required measuring range / units.
  2. Sensor details separately: stem length, sheath material, process connection (not part of this transmitter SKU).
  3. Mount form (head form B / DIN-rail / field housing), display yes/no.
  4. Supply available (must fit 11…42 VDC head standard; note SIL upper 32 VDC) and HART host.
  5. Ambient, IP need, and hazardous-area / SIL marks required.
  6. Quantity and ship-to country.

FAQ

Q: Does the TMT82 include a stem or thermowell? A: No. This SKU is the transmitter only. Process connection and sheath are blank by design — order the RTD/TC separately.

Q: One output or two? A: One 4–20 mA HART 7 output (invertible). Inputs are 2-channel universal — state how both channels will be used in the RFQ.

Q: Which approvals can I claim? A: Only those on the datasheet and ordered codes: ATEX, IECEx, FM, CSA, SIL2, CE, DNV GL. Ex protection type and housing (including Ex d field options) are selected by order code.

Q: What should I send for a quote? A: Sensor type and range, mount form, supply, IP / area class, SIL need, quantity. Compatible with systems using Endress+Hauser iTEMP TMT82 if you need a drop-in check — we do not claim authorized-dealer status.
