Complete turbidity system with Rosemount 56 transmitter (single or dual sensor), EPA 180.1 or ISO 7027 sensors, debubbler chamber, 0.001 NTU display resolution, four analog outputs, four relays, and HART.

Key advantages

  • 0.001 NTU resolution — low stray light, bubble rejection, and stability for filtered drinking water.
  • EPA or ISO sensors — EPA 180.1 (incandescent) or ISO 7027 (860 nm LED); single or dual input.
  • Full I/O — four isolated 4–20/0–20 mA (Output 1 with HART); four Form C relays; 30-day USB data/event log.
  • Debubbler chamber — sample conditioning; sensors up to 50 ft (15.2 m) from transmitter.

Typical applications

  • Filtered drinking-water turbidity monitoring.
  • Wastewater discharge, condensate return, and clarifier monitoring.
  • Dual-point turbidity with one T56 transmitter.

Selection guide

  • Sensor — EPA (01/40) or ISO (02/41); one or two.
  • Accuracy (after cal @ 20 NTU) — 0–1 NTU: ±2% of reading or ±0.015 NTU (greater); 0–20 NTU: ±2% of reading. Sensor can read ~2–200 NTU with more cleaning.
  • Cable — 20 ft (6.1 m) or 50 ft (15.2 m).
  • Transmitter — Type 4X/IP66 polycarbonate; 85–265 Vac; ambient 0…55 °C.
  • Sample — 5…35 °C; max 30 psig; must drain to atmosphere.
  • Calibration — Order calibration cup + formazin/polymer standards separately.

Common mistakes

  • Ordering without a calibration cup — required to calibrate the sensor.
  • Choosing EPA vs ISO method incorrectly for the regulatory method in force.
  • Ignoring debubbler drain-to-atmosphere requirement.
  • Analytical / water quality

When to RFQ / what to tell us

  1. EPA vs ISO; single vs dual sensor.
  2. Cable length; back-plate factory-mounted option; cal cup/standards.
  3. Power region; quantity; ship-to.

FAQ

Q: EPA or ISO sensor? A: EPA 180.1 uses an incandescent source; ISO 7027 uses an 860 nm LED. Match the method required by your plant/regulator.

Q: What should I send for a quote? A: Sensor method/count, cable, cal accessories, quantity. Compatible with systems using Rosemount T56 if you need a drop-in check — we do not claim authorized-dealer status.
